“Through all the things my eyes have seen
The best by far is you”
Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness – Cecilia And The Satellite
Dear Mamas, our children see us. And it’s our actions that will speak louder than our voices ever will–as we show them what it means to be a mother and someone who wants to make health a priority. Because we are a generation that isn’t just telling them to eat their vegetables and move their bodies–but we are showing them what it looks like to be Mama Strong.
Everyday moms, doing everyday mom life: Fitting in workouts and training schedules, working in and out of the home, taking care of our children 24 hours a day, waking up early to get workouts in before the busy day begins; getting children ready for school, packing lunches, heading to work, running around for after school activities, making dinner, squeezing in a workout with the kids –this what our children will grow up seeing.
And these are the kind women who inspire me. My running and fitness magazines are filled with elite athletes–doing amazing things–and yet it’s the mom training for her first 5k or running her 10th marathon, the mom trying cross-fit for the first time or talking to me passionately about her fitness class at the gym–a gleam in her eye and a baby on her hip–these are the moms that make me want to push myself farther and I bet they are the ones who inspire you too:
We are our children’s first role models and we’re taking that job seriously. We are #MamaStrong.
Never Give Up,
